I'm not sure if there are still people who still don't believe that Justice League: Mortal is dead, but here's another nail in the much-hammered coffin for you: Adam Brody talked to Empire, and it may interest you to know that even those on board were no more informed than you or I. I find it more funny than interesting -- scary, too, because directors and producers make way more money than I do, and should be much more organized.Apparently, none of the actors were ever officially let go or told anything, and Brody has no idea whether or not the film will ever be made. He says, "Actually, I probably shouldn't be commenting on it, but who cares. I don't really know – I still feel like an outsider on that somehow. I know there was a tax credit thing and I know that the strike was a hindrance. Also, you've got Batman coming out and Singer wants to do another Superman. This is only speculation on my part, I have no inside knowledge of this, but, as a fan, I think there's controversy about going off and trying to [show a different Superman and Batman] ... I think maybe it will still happen, but I truly don't know any more than you do".
You have to hand it to George Miller -- he inspires loyalty, which is nice. When asked if he would still be on board should the film climb out of development hell, Brody was quick to count himself in: "I'm a huge George Miller fan and a huge comic fan, so I'd still be in. But maybe I won't be. I know that Ryan Reynolds was attached to The Flash for a while and then I got the part and everyone on the internet was like, 'Oh, he's no Ryan Reynolds! Reynolds is the only Flash!' I hope that if they do it in a year or so and it's a different guy and the new guy gets shit for not being me. Like, I become the only conceivable Flash." Oh, our fickle Internet. He's totally right.
So, there you have it -- again. And now you know Brody is reading, so tell him what you think of him ever playing the Flash. Or Spider-Man, because he offered himself up for consideration should there be a Tobey Maguire-less fourth.
1. Flash, sure! I think he'd actually make a decent Flash. but i hope it's not in THIS justice league movie.
Spidey, man I dunno. Brody's somewhat nerdy persona fits the bill but a Spidey re-cast at this stage seems a little scary. Still...Spidey 3 was one of my least favorite movies of all time so maybe some serious changes are warranted. I'd almost rather they leave Spidey be for a few years (like 5 or 10) and then come back to him.
Either way...DIE JUSTICE LEAGUE DIE.
